Last Dec. 10, 2011, Live for Others Movement launches a new project called "SHARE A MEAL". The project is a brain-child of the founder Mr. Lito Gualdajara to address the problem of hunger in the sub-marginalize sector in our society. Lunch boxes were distributed to LOM members a day before a feeding schedule, noon time of December 10, 2011. A total of 70 lunch boxes filled with foods were collected. The food was distributed to the children of indigent families in Westbank Floodway, Brgy. Maybunga, Pasig City. Prior to the distribution, the LOM volunteers conducted a survey and distributed coupon to identified indigent families. As per our volunteers report during house to house survey, many families dwelling along Floodway Riverbank are informal settlers coming from various provinces in the country who came to Manila in search for a better life. But due to the lack of skills and education they could hardly find a permanent job. But caught up in a struggle to sustain their family needs. It is said to know that some of these families can only gather once a day for a meal not with an average Filipino meal but with a handful of rice coupled with a pack of instant noodles boiled with plenty of water as their usual vian. During the food distribution the children were so excited to knowing that the food they're going to receive is not a traditional soft food feeding but directly from the meal tables from the different donors. Children and parents were happy and thankful for the delicious food they sheldon ate. After the successful "Share A Meal" launching the LOM officers decided to make it a regular weekly project. Today, the project is open to all kindhearted people who wish support. Through the "SEND A MEAL" Program. Visit our website and fill-up the "Send a Meal" donors form and choose the day of feeding schedule and the food you want to to donate. The food, the pictures, and the prices shown are taken from restaurants nearby the feeding stations. At present we have five (5) meal station in Floodway along Pasig and Cainta, Rizal.
